E1416A Users Manual page 1-6, footnote 1 states that the 11683A Range Calibrators may produce inconsistent results on the most sensitive ranges and that the 11683A can be modified. What parts are required and how are these parts fitted ?

Here is the list of parts the customer needs to complete this modification and the modification procedure:

11683-20007 - Non Conductive Mount

0160-2357 - Feed Through Resistor

0360-0793 - Large Solder Lug

0360-0042 - Small Solder Lug

Remove the feedthrough capacitor from the chopper assembly.

Place the large solder lug over the new feedthrough capacitor (supplied) and fit the new feedthrough capacitor.

Replace the metal mount between the power supply board and the chassis with the non-conductive mount.

Place the small solder lug under the screw that connects the non conductive mount to the power supply board.

Connect the large solder lug and small solder lug together with black wire.

Connect the black wire on the range switch assembly to the large solder lug.

The customer can perform this themselves or if they prefer this can be done at the local service center.
